Protocol for determining cost per page: Divide cost of printing by number of newsletters, then divide again by number of pages. Protocol for determining final cost per copy, excluding sales tax: Divide total cost excluding sales tax by number printed. It is not possible at this time to determine the amount of sales tax we pay. MSU takes a markup on actual printing and mail preparation costs billed by an outside provider. We do not know if we pay sales tax on the total billed to MSU or on the total that MSU charges to our account.
